When local artist Keith Crawford waked into the Liverpool Street office in July 2020, he had no idea of the impact his love of art would soon have on residents at the complex.
Keith had been commissioned to create some artworks based around the theme of What it Means to have a Home. As part of his research for the commission, Keith spoke to residents to get their stories and insights. The residents shared their thoughts and described their Compass homes as safe refuges, a place to heal, a new life, freedom and independence.
It was during these discussions that the residents, having been given previews of Keith's artworks, expressed a strong interest to create their own.
The Thursday morning Liverpool Art Classes commenced soon after.
