Frequently Asked Questions

Do you only offer emergency or transitional housing?

No! Our tenants enjoy safe, secure housing for as long as they need.

Compass NZ is a community housing provider, working in partnership with The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to "increase the supply of housing, support people with services to help them sustain suitable housing, and build better lives."

How do I apply for a Compass NZ home?

Our tenants come from the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) Social Housing Register or Transfer Register. For information on applying for social housing go to  http://www.housing.msd.govt.nz/housing-options/social-housing/application-process.html

What is TAG?

Members of the Compass Housing NZ Tenant Advisory Groups (TAG) advocate for their

fellow tenants and provide feedback to management. TAG work groups have already resulted in successful tenant led initiatives being rolled out in two complexes.

Where are the Compass NZ homes located?

Compass NZ currently manages 90 homes in South Auckland. By 2020, Compass NZ, in partnership with local developers, will deliver a range of small scale developments in West Auckland and in regional NZ.

Compass NZ is also working to deliver a "rent-to-buy" for key worker households who are currently paying over 50% of their income on rent.
