Compass NZ is a non-government not-for-profit community housing provider. Compass NZ currently manages 90 properties in South Auckland in Papatoetoe and in Mangere East.
The Compass NZ approach to tenancy and property management focuses on improving the social and economic circumstances of the individual household as well as the community in which they live. The Compass NZ ethos is that community housing is about more than providing shelter, it’s also about building sustainable communities.
Compass NZ offers a range of community development activities designed to foster social inclusion and personal development. Compass NZ has established a number of key partnerships with social service providers and is focused on tenant empowerment which has contributed to high tenant and staff satisfaction levels.
Compass NZ has established a strong platform on which to build future growth. We have formed strong and productive relationships with the Ministry of Social Development (MSD) Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other key government agencies, and the private sector to increase the range and quality of affordable housing options in New Zealand.
The Compass NZ employs a People Place Performance approach.
People-focused programs which enable social regeneration and increase tenant social and economic participation.
Place making initiatives which strengthen people’s sense of connection to their homes, neighbourhoods and communities.
Performance assessment which ensures continuous assessment on what they do and whether it is making a difference for tenants, the places they manage, the organisation and the sector.
